I told my brother,
”I will take over our family business.
You will be an artist, as you wish.”

This book was created through the R&D project “Tsutaya Souvenirs” by product designers Hiroshi Komiyama and Gottingham, and includes two forms of photographic work as artistic research. They traveled together, and through a series of dialogues with people involved in local craftsmanship, they improvised keywords using a staged photography/typology shooting style. In the Saga section, they visited Momota Touen in Arita Town, where they examined [family, local industry, mass production, and artwork], using the words and things they saw and heard there as a starting point. Designed by Toshimasa Kimura.
