Project: Beppu Scale

“The Scale” series was photographed in conjunction with the Hotel Amanek Beppu Yurari, which opened in Beppu City, Oita Prefecture, in December 2021. Original prints from the same series are also on display in the lobby of Hotel Amanek Shinjuku Kabukicho, an Amanek-affiliated hotel that opened in April 2023.
The light box-style works installed next to the front desk and on the stairs are the same type as those displayed next to the elevator hall of “Hotel Amaneku Beppu Yurari”. The circular acrylic print work also displayed in the lobby is an update of the work displayed in the guest rooms and elevator hall of “Hotel AMANEK Beppu Yurari” and makes more use of the transparent material of acrylic.
